New name and review

Hey everyone.

As you might have noticed the band you once knew as The Bad Habit is no longer. This is due to legal reasons beyond our control and not a choice of our own. After almost ten years with a band name it's not easy to make changes but we hope that both we, our selves, and you will adapt to the new name.

The good part is that we came up with an even better name - The Cajunga! The new name will carry on the spirit and good music of the old one and no personal changes have been made in the orchestra.

So, the band is still intact and recordings for the debut will continue next weekend with the recording of 6 more basic tracks.

For all of you living in Turku, we'll play at Kåren on the 30'th of April (Kårens Wappmiddag). Hope to see you all there.

More studio work done

Hey friends and fans!

We've just finished three more days in the studio, cutting vocals and some guitars. Oskar sure did a great job screaming into the microphone. Enjoy some pics from the session!

New songs come into life every day, and soon we'll record the remaining songs in order to complete the album. It'll be a great one!

Yours,

Joel

Reviews

Greetings everyone.

Found two new reviews of our old records. One is really good, which is great! :P

Chech them out!

In Your Face at Vertigo (in Finnish) here.

Your Favourite Habit at Backlash.se (in Swedish) here.

Still working on the new album. We've got four more songs rehearsed and are trying to find 2-3 more to go with them. More on that matter asap.

Take care!

Rehearsals and upcoming show.

Yo!

Yesterday we once again had the usual Monday rehearsals. We're currently concentrating on finding new songs that will fit the album and at the moment there are a few coming along. Of course there is still a long way to go before they're all finished but I think we're on the right path.

In the upcoming weeks we'll also hopefully be able to start cutting vocals and some overdub guitars for the songs already recorded. This project is also one that is rather time consuming and will probably keep us busy until the Christmas holidays.

To keep us even more busy we're going to play our first ever all unplugged gig at Pub Kåren on the 27'th of November. The Pub Nights are monthly events hosted by the Rock Association at Åbo Akademi University and we're thrilled to play a quieter set for a change.

It will be a special night in deed as we're rearranging our originals to fit the acoustic instrumentation. The two sets of the evening will future reworked original songs and covers by e.g. The Band and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Hope to see you all there!

As for now, stay cool.

Oskar

Back in Turku

Morjens!

We're back in Turku after two shows this weekend. Friday was great and Saturday even better. We had a blast with the boys from the Bullets and there are already plans for more dates together. It's always fun to be out on the road with the boys although the drive back to Turku took approximately 6 hours (!) due to a ridiculous amount of coffee breaks.

If you're living in around Jakobstad you can watch my appearance on "Gäst i Röda Soffan" (A local talk show) this Tuesday at 20:15 on Jakobstads NärTv. They will show some live videos of The Bad Habit and I will be talking about music and what being in a band is all about.

Also, if you are interested, check out this months issue of Soundi Magazine for a review of In Your Face.

Hope to see all of you again soon. Thanks to the Bullets for good company and great music this weekend.

Se on moro,

Oskar

Live again

Good afternoon.

After one week of banging our heads in the studio it's great to be out playing live again. We've got to gigs this weekend with our friends in The Bullets.

Yesterday we played at Doo-Bop Club in Vaasa and it was great. Both bands did great shows and we all had a laugh.

Today we arrived in Jakobstad, our old hometown on the west coast where we will be playing at Music Club Jeppis later this evening. Hopefully the party will be on tonight again. Welcome all.

Although I had to call it a night pretty early yesterday due to problems with my voice, waking up this morning, I could tell by the looks of my fellow bandmates that it had been a wild (and late) night out.

I am a little worried about the condition of my voice and my ability to sing the songs 100% tonight but I'm hoping it will be alright. And then again I also have to great backing vocalists by my side to support me if I struggle.

Looking forward to tonight, we'll have a blast, hope you all can make it.

See you later.

A few pictures for 'ya

Hello friends.

Here are a couple of pictures from this weeks studio session. (Sorry about the poor quality but since we spent all our money on other adventures non of us can really afford a good camera.)

Enjoy and be careful.

Viktor preparing his bass.

Grundvall pounding.

Problems or just a coffee break?
